Construct Stylish Big Footers With Ease
Bigfoot Legend is a collection of deep footer templates. At its heart is the Bigfoot stack.
If your screen's too small or you want to download this 32 MB movie, you can do so here.

Long Story Short
For the last 10,000 years footers in RapidWeaver themes have been pretty tame. A single line for your copyright and contact link and that's it. Then came Extra Content, and suddenly footers were delivered from the jaws of extinction as theme developers finally gave us the potential to explore our wildest Big Footer dreams. But the means to build them — easily — eluded us still. Until now.
No Hoax
Now with the evolution of Stacks 2 all the natural ingredients and conditions are finally in place for monster footers to propagate in the wild.
It is now safe to say that Bigfoot is neither hoax nor myth. Welcome to the Bigfoot Legend!

If you're a big footer fetishist like me and want to offer yourself or your clients the footer capacity that's been available to most other websites for years, then Bigfoot Legend is exactly what you need. It makes building complicated yet stylish footers fun and easy!

Style In A Second
Bigfoot Templates
Different layout for a new project? No problem. That's the beauty of our Bigfoot Templates. I've included 9 stylish standalone Stacks 2 templates to start you off — see below — and will be adding more free templates to the Bigfoot Legend Library in the months to come.

Streamlined Simplicity
Global Content
All our templates have a Global Content functionality. This means if you change the text in one, it'll automatically change the text in all the others. Although this doesn't yet work with images a future version of Stacks 2 may well include that functionality.

Roll Your Own
The Bigfoot Stack
For those of you who want to design and build your own big footers, the Bigfoot Stack is the stylish link builder that will give you pixel-perfect precision at the heart of your design and make your job so much easier! Stacks 2 required.

Optimal Conditions
Bigfoot and ExtraContent
In the same way that bears need honey, squirrels need nuts and developers need drink to overcome the hardships of day to day survival, so Bigfoot needs ExtraContent (EC) to truly flourish in the wild. If the theme you're using supports ExtraContent in the footer area, then all you do is drop a Bigfoot template into an EC stack and away you go. If you're new to ExtraContent, you can find out more about it here, and download the free ExtraContent stack here.
In the meantime, intermediary and more advanced Weavers will be pleased to learn that while Bigfoot works best with ExtraContent enabled themes, Pluskit is always a good option when you want to insert stacks pages into non-stacks pages.
Although other possibilities exist for older themes that lack ExtraContent functionality — for instance, stacks like Teleporter and Houdini which can insert stacks into otherwise inaccessible areas like footer fields — we don't offer support for these older themes.

What the Bigfoot Stack is Not
The Bigfoot Stack is not a stack that builds templates, nor will it help you build templates. The Bigfoot Stack will however build you stylish customisable lists of links that advanced Weavers can use in their own Big Footer designs. I'll be publishing screencasts with the next update that will show you how to build your own big footers using the Bigfoot Stack. The templates are standalone products and perfect timesavers for novice Weavers. Because they are templates they do not yet have much flexibility. But...
Free Bigfoot Legend Update
The next free Bigfoot Legend update will bring loads more flexibility to the templates and will allow the user to add — at their own risk — whatever they like to the template dropzones. These extra 9 Bigfoot templates will cater for intermediate Weavers.
Meanwhile if you are thinking of purchasing the Bigfoot Legend but still have some questions, then please feel free to get in touch. We welcome your questions and feedback.

Big Footers
The Last Word
Bigfoot Legend is more than just the sum of its parts — it's a concept, a different way of seeing and utilising footers in RapidWeaver projects. While many websites ignore their footers' potential or treat them like something unpleasant stuck to the bottom of their shoes, we at RapidWeaver Central see them as vital elements of a website's structure and design, with a powerful role to play, not least in SEO internal linking terms.
Footers are present on every page, which means they are the ideal place for sign-up forms, business and contact info, social network icons, sitemap navigation links and links to valuable resources, legal and privacy pages.
Combined with a good content strategy big footers have the capability to become a nexus for directing and redirecting the flow of visitors through your site, reinforcing a company's image while increasing visitors' stay and activity on your site.
In purely SEO terms the question is, can you afford not to have a big footer?
